Our new building

We are delighted to have finally taken occupation of our fantastic new building. With much anticipation and excitement we opened our doors to local children and their families on September 7th 2011.

Set in an idyllic orchard setting, the wonderfully spacious, colourful and purpose-built environment offers a safe and secure setting for our children. All the facilities, appliances and fixtures are new throughout. The large indoor open-plan play area is bathed in natural light and allows children to move easily between different activities and access resources of their choice. There are two sets of double doors that open onto a covered decking veranda that then leads seamlessly into a significantly larger outdoor play area. The first phase of redeveloping the outside space is complete and includes specific areas that focus on numeracy, music and role play along with plenty of space to just burn off energy. The second phase, that will not impact on the existing area, will concentrate on developing wildlife areas, including a pond and different sensory experiences.

The new building has been constructed in an environmentally sensitive manner. We have used the latest insulation technology and materials, energy saving lighting and rain water harvesting that will ensure that we considerably reduce our settings carbon footprint.

With funding from Oxfordshire County Council and considerable support from our local community, the new building has under written the future of Little Pippins pre- school for many years to come.
